This enhanced edition modernized the 8-bit classic with updated visuals, remastered audio, and animated cutscenes while preserving its distinctive progression system, where characters grow based on their actions rather than experience points. Final Fantasy II also introduced the iconic and adorable Chocobos, which became a lasting series staple, even receiving their own respective games. There is a .25" crack on the back cover. Wata notes, "Crack in case (back)."
